potatos, onions and carrot on table

Pantry Staples

None of us like that moment when – shock, horror, you peak in the pantry to find there doesn’t seem to be anything to eat! This can often result in a hasty trip to the local store for a top up shop.

Hopefully this doesn’t happen to you very often. But if it does, check out these simple tips to help get the most from your pantry staples.

Always keep a small supply of potatoes, onions and carrots on hand, these will keep for a week and will come in handy for so many meals. Eggs in the pantry mean that you’ve always got an omelette or frittata as back up. A can of tomatoes will help turn some pasta into a meal, while keeping some small portions of meat in the freezer is a must, bacon is great because it freezes well, is quick to thaw out and can add flavour to most meals.

Then we come to the one staple that is always in my pantry that is of course a selection MAGGI recipes bases. Keeping these and the other pantry staples will hopefully make those last minute store dashes a thing of the past.
